Drought hits the Northeast, U.S.

Parts of Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Hampshire are experiencing drought.

  • This is the second year of below-average rainfall.

  • More than 74% of the state of Massachusetts is experiencing some degree of drought according to the US Drought Monitor.

  • Maine’s blueberry crop is expected to be smaller than the last two years.

  • Farmers are having to make tough decisions about which crops to water.
