The first pan-African water law platform, RENEWAL looks to accelerate the achievement of

water security across Africa.

 

Water laws create an essential foundation for advancing water security and achieving regional, national, and local priorities. The RENEWAL Platform will set forth a cataloguing of all water laws across 10 critical nexuses from the national to the local level, analyze the laws to understand how existing laws act to protect and manage water resources, and critically evaluate existing laws for shortcomings, gaps, inconsistencies, unintended consequences and strengths with an eye for identifying opportunities to improve laws to better address challenges and meet the country's needs.
